CWP Energy Ltd is proud to announce that it has raised an outstanding £43,000, including Gift Aid, for the Stroke Association following a company-wide charity challenge one of the largest sums the Stroke Association has received from a single company challenge.

In total, 40 colleagues from CWP Energy took on the demanding hills of Long Mynd in Shropshire, completing a 20.2 km (12.5 mile) trek with a challenging 750-metre (2,500 ft) ascent across varied and rugged terrain. The challenge was undertaken to raise both funds and awareness for stroke survivors and the vital work carried out by the Stroke Association.

The funds raised will directly support the Stroke Association’s essential work, including specialist support services and the Stroke Helpline, ensuring survivors and their families receive expert advice and emotional support when they need it most, as well as pioneering research to save lives and help stroke survivors achieve the best possible recovery.

Stroke is a sudden and life-changing medical emergency that occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted, depriving brain cells of oxygen and nutrients. Without oxygen, brain cells begin to die within minutes. In the UK alone, more than 100,000 people experience a stroke each year around one every five minutes.

By taking on this challenge, colleagues at CWP Energy demonstrated their commitment not only to physical endurance, but to making a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of people affected by stroke every year. The funds raised will help provide hope, healing and a second chance at life for stroke survivors across the UK.

CWP Energy Ltd and the Stroke Association would like to thank everyone who supported the challenge and generously donated. Any further donations are greatly appreciated and will continue to support life-saving research and essential services for stroke survivors.
