CWP Energy is pleased to highlight continued community investment through the Sanquhar Wind Farm Community Fund, administered by the Upper Nithsdale Community Trust. Our focus remains on supporting local priorities, strengthening community facilities, and delivering lasting social value across Upper Nithsdale.
In January 2026, funding was awarded to a number of local organisations to support key community projects and services across the area. Kirkconnel Parish Heritage Society received £14,000 to extend local paths, improving access and encouraging greater engagement with the area’s heritage. UNACCI Ltd (A’ The Airts) was awarded £20,000 towards its core running costs, helping to sustain a vital community hub that provides a wide range of cultural, social, and support services. Meanwhile, The Crawick Multiverse received £5,000 to support youth recruitment, creating new opportunities for young people to get involved with this internationally recognised visitor attraction.
Quote from Rob Fryer, Director of Civils and Business Development at CWP Energy:
“It’s important to us that our community funding reflects what matters most to local people. By supporting projects that enhance access, sustain valued services, and create opportunities for young people, we’re helping to build a stronger and more connected Upper Nithsdale.”
Quote from the Upper Nithsdale Community Trust:
“This funding round demonstrates the breadth of activity taking place across the area. From heritage and the environment to community services and youth engagement, these projects will bring real benefits to residents and visitors alike.”
CWP Energy looks forward to continuing its constructive relationship with the local community as work progresses on its latest project near Sanquhar, Sanquhar II Wind Farm. Further updates will be shared as the project develops, alongside future opportunities for community support.
