Consisting of 60 turbines with tip heights ranging from 180m to 250m to tip, Scoop Hill Wind Farm will generate 432MW of clean, green electricity along with a 200MW battery storage facility. The development site is located approximately 5km south east of Moffat.
The proposed wind farm would contribute towards achieving Scotland’s renewable energy and climate change targets by producing enough electricity to power over 450,000 homes annually.
As directed by regulation 23(4) of the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017, notice is hereby given that CWL Energy Ltd (“the Company”) has been refused consent by Scottish Ministers for the proposed Scoop Hill Community Wind Farm in Dumfries & Galloway, a 60-turbine development including battery storage with a capacity exceeding 50 MW.
