9 Vestas V112 turbines, generating 31.05MW was consented in February 2014 by Dumfries and Galloway Council. The wind farm was fully operational by March 2018.
Community investment funding from Sanquhar Wind Farm is transferred to the Upper Nithsdale Community Trust who administer and distribute the funding to various local projects, charitable causes and community groups in the Upper Nithsdale area. The host communities of Kirkconnel & Kelloholm and Sanquhar can make direct applications to the Trust for community investment funding.
