An extension to Aikengall Wind Farm, comprising 19 Siemens Direct Drive turbines generating 60.8MW. Consented in 2013 by the Scottish Ministers and became operational in November 2017.

Community Involvement and Investment

Community investment funding from Aikengall II Wind Farm is distributed equally between our BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar and five local Community Councils/Trusts, who administer the funding for the benefit of their communities.

The Community Council’s and Trust Funds consist of:
• Cockburnspath & Cove CC
• Cranshaws, Ellemford and Longformacus (CELCA)
• Dunbar CC
• East Lammermuir CC
• Preston & Abbey St Bathan’s Community Trust (PACT).

Aikengall II Wind Farm features a Memorial Stone, as a mark of respect for two servicemen who crash landed at Wester Dod on 3rd May 1945, which was unveiled during a memorial service organised by CWP ENERGY on 25th April 2019.

Two Royal New Zealand Air Force pilots were on a training mission in a Beaufighter when they crash landed, resulting in the tragic loss of both personnel; Pilot Harry Kenneth Lillington Rice (aged 21) and Navigator Aubrey John Clarke (aged 23).
