13 Siemens Direct Drive turbines generating 39MW, consented in June 2012 by South Lanarkshire Council. The 145m to tip turbines were fully operational by November 2013.
Community investment funding from Calder Water Wind Farm is transferred directly to South Lanarkshire Council, who administer and distribute the funding through their Renewable Energy Fund. Any local community group, school or charity who require financial support, can apply directly to the Renewable Energy Fund via the council’s website: www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk
