Meet The Team

Rhys is the Commercial Director and has over 15 years experience in the renewable energy industry. Prior to joining the team in 2014, he worked on the wind farm project finance team for a high street bank. Rhys is responsible for a range of commercial matters across the business including the commercial aspects of project development, securing land and development rights, and dealing with difficult planning constraints. Post consent, Rhys is involved with construction contract tendering together with project financing, route to market and trading power for our operational assets.

Kirsty is the sole in-house Legal Counsel for CWP Energy and is an integral part of the team. She is a commercial lawyer with over 5 years experience advising on renewable energy projects in the UK and an extensive background in commercial property and planning matters. She is responsible for all legal matters across the business and its portfolio, including leading our teams at Planning Inquiries. She provides legal and planning support during project development, planning, acquisitions, disposals and project financing, including the negotiation and completion of options and leases to secure sites for wind, solar and energy storage projects. Kirsty also assists with all legal aspects of commercial contracts in relation to the operation and management of the company’s assets.

Paul is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) who joined CWP Energy Ltd in 2019 and was promoted to his current position of Senior Management Accountant in 2022. Prior to this, he progressed through a variety of finance roles in the NHS, whilst also studying for his CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant) qualification, which he completed in 2019. As a senior member of a small finance team he has a wide range of responsibilities, including producing key financial data and reports which are used to make informed business decisions.

Gregg joined the business in 2020 as Management Accountant. He is responsible for all financial aspects of 5 operational windfarms, whilst also supporting the team with other projects in the portfolio. Gregg is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with 5 years post qualification experience. He graduated from the University of Chester after receiving a 1st Class with (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

With a background in civil engineering, Rob has worked exclusively for CWP Energy for over 19 years and with the wider team has developed its renewables portfolio. Concurrently, Rob has worked with his fellow Directors to deliver over £10m of Community Funding, to their host communities, particularly proud of structuring and delivering the £1.3m means tested energy funds paid by the company to assist over 2000 families in East Lothian and North Ayrshire during the energy crisis.”

Alasdair joined CWP Energy in 2019 after graduating from Lancaster University with a BSc in Physics. He began his career as an analyst and became Senior Operations Manager in 2023. In this role, Alasdair collaborates closely with a team of analysts, site supervisors, and engineers to optimise the performance and maintenance of our assets. His primary focus is maximising operational efficiency, ensuring that each asset operates at peak capacity to generate clean, renewable energy. By enhancing energy output, Alasdair and the wider team contribute to national energy security and promote the adoption of sustainable power.

Gillian joined CWP Energy in 2005, after graduating from Chester University with a BSc Single honors Geography degree starting as Project Assistant. Gillian developed her career with the Company and became Projects Director in 2016. Working with the Project Development team, Gillian has been involved with the identification, design and development of over 330MW of operational capacity and is working on a further 500MW in planning, alongside a substantial development pipeline embracing several renewable energy technologies.

Rebecca has worked at CWP Energy for over 5 years now as part of our Project Development team. Rebecca joined the company as a Project Assistant after completing her BSc Geography degree at the University of Chester and is now a Senior Project Manager within the Development team. She has been involved in gaining planning consent for our Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm and is now working on getting the planning conditions discharged for this development, alongside working on our Scoop Hill scheme as it goes through the planning process. Rebecca is also involved in identifying, designing and developing a significant number of new wind, solar and battery storage sites.
